What is a Web App?
A web app is a computer program that provides functionality that can be used over the Internet using a web browser. Unlike a web page that displays only static content, a web app is often part of a web page and the user can interact with it by entering data, executing processes, or viewing dynamically displayed data. What is a Single Page Application?
Classically, websites and web applications consisted of several HTML documents through which you could navigate and view their pre-generated content. Navigating between these HTML documents always resulted in short loading interruptions when you wanted to view a new document on the same web page. Single Page Applications, SPA for short, consist of only one HTML document and the content is generated dynamically using JavaScript. However, an SPA can still display different pages, but the user no longer notices any interruptions in loading during navigation.

What is an HTML document?
An HTML document is a file in Hypertext Markup Language Format (HTML) that is usually made available on the Internet and can be displayed using browsers. HTML is a kind of programming language that allows to structure documents with texts, hyperlinks, images etc.

What is JavaScript?
JavaScript is a programming language that was developed in 1995 by the company Netscape. In 1996, the ECMAScript standard was created based on this language and has been continuously developed since then. JavaScript is used in web browsers to display or change content dynamically and is the basis for the implementation of single page applications with JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular. Since 2009, JavaScript no longer depends exclusively on the browser as runtime environment and can also be used to implement server applications with the help of NodeJs.

What are the most common web technologies?
With the proliferation of Single Page Applications, the number of JavaScript frameworks and libraries that help implement SPAs has grown rapidly and continues to grow. The most important ones are currently Angular, React or Vue.js. But also standards like WebComponents become more and more important.

What is Angular?
Angular is a JavaScript framework for the implementation of single page applications, which was first launched by Google in 2010. After a reimplementation in 2014/2015 it is also designed for very large web applications. Angular is written in the programming language Typescript, which is characterized by a stronger typing than JavaScript and therefore makes it easier to get started, especially for Java developers.

What is React?
React is a JavaScript library from Facebook for creating user interface components. Like Angular, React is used to implement Single Page Applications. However, React only represents the UI layer that is required for an SPA. For the other required functionalities no support is offered and the developers have to make do with additional libraries.
In comparison, Angular as a framework offers an all-round carefree package.

What are WebComponents?
The term WebComponents actually covers four Web standards (Custom Elements, Shadow Dom, ES Modules and HTML Template) that can be used to implement dynamic UI components. By using WebStandards they can be used by many browsers and are not dependent on framework libraries like React or Angular.
